Fork Lifting Training

A forklift (also called a lift truck, a Hyster, a stacker-truck, or a side loader) is a powered folk liftindustrial truck used to lift and transport materials. It is one of the most dangerous means of transportation and as a result all operators are required to undergo accredited training every two years as stipulated in the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993. Global Learning Services is one such Accredited Training provider specializing in all Lifting equipment training. Our learning program is accredited with the Transport Seta.  

Purpose of training

The purpose of the training is to assist Learners to become competent in skills and knowledge in Operating of Lift Trucks. UNIT STANDARD: 8038 REGISTERED ON THE NQF ON LEVEL 3, AT 6 CREDITS.

The learning has a dual advantage, namely:

*Firstly it can help you in obtaining credits towards a qualification namely: THE NATIONAL CERTIFICATE IN FREIGHT HANDLING or NATIONAL CERTIFICATE: PROFESSIONAL DRIVING, at LEVEL 3.
*Secondly, you are also able to demonstrate your competence in the following outcomes:   Identify and classify freight. Handle, load and store freight. Achieve maximum work performance of lifting equipment and attachments. Operate equipment in accordance with organizational and legislative standards and procedures.Access available support systems and emergency services in case of incidents and accidents.

Mobile Crane Training

Skill attained on Mobile crane training at SS Training Center at a minimal cost include: operator being responsible for the safety of the crane operation as soon as the load is lifted clear of the ground. craneBecause of this responsibility, whenever there is reasonable cause to believe that the lift might be dangerous or unsafe, the mobile crane driver must refuse to lift until the concern has been reported to the supervisor, any hazards are rectified, and safety conditions are met. Overhead Crane

Designed for all employees of professional drivers utilizing company transport. overhead craneThis overhead training course gives equipment operators a solid foundation in health and safety standards, preventative maintenance, and the proper procedures for safely operating overhead cranes.     The course covers aspects of defensive driving, K53 techniques, vehicle maintenance and daily inspections. Drivers are also practically assessed as part of the course, and re-assessed on an annual or bi-annual basis for re-certification.

Fire Fighting Training

Our fire fighting training will equip employees to prevent fires and to contain and/or extinguish an fire fightingincipient-stage fire. Fire fighting training includes emergency evacuation procedures and how to alert the fire department. We offer two basic Fire Fighting courses and a Breathing Apparatus training course:    

Basic Fire fighting Training

SAQA registered Unit Standard: 252250, 'Apply fire fighting techniques' This basic fire fighting course covers procedures required for dealing with insipient-stage fires in the workplace. It is a hands-on, practical course in basic fire fighting but also includes formal instruction on various aspects of fire and fire behaviour, fire prevention and evacuation procedures, basic fire equipment and fire fighting procedures.

Extended Basic Fire fighting Training Course

SAQA registered Unit Standard: 12484, 'Perform basic fire fighting' This extended basic fire fighting course will be enable learners to identify different classes of fires, and to contain, prevent and extinguish different types of fires by operating basic firefighting equipment. This basic extended fire fighting course is a hands-on, practical course. It includes formal instruction on fire prevention and evacuation procedures, fire and fire behaviour, fire-fighting equipment including fire extinguishers, hoses and hydrants, basic fire fighting procedures and techniques and basic life support and emergency first aid care for burns.
